If they are looking in this area, it will Charlotte.

are u dumb? look at their requirements they name frequent cities they will be flying to and from and must have direct access no stops.
they will be using it heavily than any other company, largely to Seattle and California just to name 2 on their list.
we do NOT have local talent in this online tech field, a lot will be flying into here as well from the west coast.

Keep this liberal business out and stay true to the roots of Wilkes Co.
If you wanna work there so bad then relocate to New England where I hope it goes. Yea Hickory airport is too small AND the requirements also look for high speed rail too. I really hope Charlotte, Triad, Raleigh, all lose out on this one.

I read an article recently that proved it rains more in Charlotte than Seattle, despite the perception of Seattle being a more depressive city, weather wise. But I still don't like you

I might pick Greensboro over Charlotte because of available of skilled high tech labor. Charlotte has better transportation, UNC, the race track, Carowinds, two or more malls, the airport, lake Norman/lake Wylie, I 77 and I 85.

Charlotte doesn't have a chance. The roadways and traffic suck and the airport is near it's limit in space ...... which is why they are planning to expand.
Hickory's airport is too small to handle jets from freight companies, so they are out.
Greensboro has the best chance of any NC city. They have I-40 and I-85 running through their backyard and the local airport is large enough without being overly crowded.
BTW, Amazon isn't going to relocate the workforce from the left coast. They will hire locals (who knows which restroom to use) and be trained by a few left coasters who will visit for a few months during the training period.

You are worrying too much. Locating amazon in NC isn’t going to affect the housing costs in Wilkes County. I can assure you that the people able to work at an Amazon headquarters have no desire to buy homes in Wilkes. There is a chance they could pick Hickory. But Charlotte is more likely. And the RTP area is the best fit. 40 and 85 won’t notice another 10k cars commuting daily. The sections between Greensboro and Raleigh are already parking lots

Just look at the different pages. I am on here saying he cops are dirty and we have a supermarket for illegal drugs on main street Wilkesboro and the response from others is I need to get right with God. Then take the OP of this page, he is only concerned that gays might get jobs and the area might turn blue. Why would anyone want to move to Wilkes?

This is one reason we haven't had new and better jobs come to Wilkes. We have way to many crazies. I mean really, if you were an avid reader of this page, would you move to Wilkes and invest in a business?

And your comment about turning political areas of NC from red to blue is laughable at best.

App1994, I certainly hope you are not serious.
With the high unemployment in the surrounding areas, we should be doing all we can to attract jobs instead of telling them to look elsewhere.
As for housing, there are more than a few houses on the market and no one will be forced from their homes.
And concerning the sexual orientation of their employees, what business is it of yours as long as they aren't hurting anyone?

My question is how can we get Appstate1994 out of NC? This is just the type of individual we don't need in our state.

Gee AppState, I didn't realize that Amazon has "their type of employees regarding sexual orientation" and apparently NC doesn't have any. How does that work? Maybe Amazon buys them from a factory in Taiwan?
Also "we do not have the speedy transportation infrastructure"? So what are all the airports & interstate highways used for in NC?
