As much as I am pulling for Ashe Shelby is gonna be too overwhelming for them.
Firstly Shelby will have the depth and speed advantage. When we played them in the first round in 2016 I was amazed by how many kids Shelby had on their sidelines. They had at least 3 squads worth of kids playing both varsity and JV aged. Once the playoffs hit Ware moves them all up. They had platoons of kids for each side. Unless Ashe is super Ironman ready they are gonna get wore down after not very long. Also the kids on the bench were just as fast as their starters were.
In Ashe's benefit Shelby's down this year due to losing Jax Holifield and several solid seniors but they are still good. In the Lions defense West Lincoln had their best season in school history this year in terms of wins and talent (they deserved a better first round game but the sorry playoff system ruined that,) and Shelby had their hands full. Ashe's RB may get what that RB from West had but I doubt it unless Shelby's run D is down.
Either Ashe comes ready to play and makes it close for a bit or Shelby comes in hyped up and puts away after a quarter. The long travel time isn't a help to Ashe at all either they gotta prep for it.
Regardless it's gonna go down as an awesome year for Ashe. They can't complain they got a 2nd round game, hope they enjoy it and make the most of it.
